Gregor’s Room

Gregor’s Room
Paper, water
14”x8”x4”

The eight sculptures communicate a sense of disgust
While exploring the materials to build the sculptures, I wanted to focus on the colors and texture. I decided to include lots of paper pulp for the texture because I conveyed the feeling of disgust the best. I felt the work was lacking color so i added color to the paper pulp while it was wet to really have the color seep into it.
I want to keep exploring the idea of only using one material. I want to learn more about colors and how to incorporate them into my work. The piece allowed me to explore color and texture a lot more than I am used to. The making of this work exposed me to new ideas such as worry and doubt.
